Biodynamic Cranio Sacral Therapy (BCST)

Biodynamic Cranio Sacral Therapy (BCST) is a form of bodywork that offers a light, non-invasive and supportive form of touch that can promote healing in all layers of the body and mind. This form of contact tends to make space for any needed adjustments to be made organically from the ‘inside out’, which is quite different than applying a manual technique from the outside-in. It is most typically received lying down on a massage table and is always performed fully clothed. Contact should be comfortable and so communication is paramount during the contact stage. During a session, I may offer the possibility to shift my contact to different locations on your body or stay at the same spot for the entire time.

The experience of receiving BCST can range from one of generally being quiet together during the contact stage, with some time to explore how you have been and what you are wanting from your session at the beginning and then some time to debrief before bringing the session to a close. When required, I can support your process during the contact stage with dialogue to enhance somatic awareness and the processing of any traumatic material that arises. In this way you can metabolise and integrate what is coming up rather than being retraumatised by it. Most often this means bringing in tools from SE that I find integrate especially well with this work.

Besides often experiencing deep states of relaxation during or after a session, clients have also reported relief with a wide range of issues such as:

  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Chronic Pain
  • Back pain
  • Headaches
  • Trauma, especially medical, anaesthesia, sexual and birth trauma
